ABOUT ABOUT

The Family Circus Comedy Tour is making its way across New York and Pennsylvania and it's making a stop at Milkie's on Elmwood in Buffalo on Friday, Sept. 7. Presented by P.S.Y.C.H. 607, the Family Circus is a collection of some of the finest comedians from across the region.

Sharing the stage in Utica are Utica's Phil Canarelli, Ithaca's Deidre Mollura, Scranton's Angelia Petrillo, Cortland's Paul Kozlowski, Binghamton's Taury Seward and Mike Peters and Buffalo's John Lockwood. The lineup is subject to change.

Tickets are $5 at the door and online and donations are very much welcomed. The doors open at 8 p.m. and the show will start at 9.

Poor Decisions Live! co-founder Phil Canarelli is no stranger to Binghamton. One of the bright spots in Utica, Canarelli combines a love story-telling, comic-book culture and not having children to present the audience with an enjoyable display of what a young comic should be. Canarelli produces and hosts the Utica Brews Laugh Contests. He does not like squirrels.

Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, is a co-founder of P.S.Y.C.H. 607. Peters specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. He's a regular host at Spotlight in Binghamton, has performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried.

A well-traveled comedian from Buffalo, John Lockwood is known for clever writing and the ability to find a joke in anything, often to the dismay of those around him. A comic with a love of non-sequiturs and a flare for finding logic in the ridiculous, Lockwood looks like a handsome jerk and talks like a crazy person. He’s possibly the only optimistic comedian in the world.

Deidre Mollura is one of Ithaca's strongest comedians. A co-founder of the Itha-ha comedy group, Mollura is a collector of oddities and a lover of the weird things in life. Mollura performs all across New York, was the runner-up in the 2018 Matty B’s Roast Battle championship and opened for Kevin Salisbury and Brian Barganier on their New York. She works for food, drinks and one time, a tomato plant. (Don’t give her tomatoes.)

Nothing is off-limits for Angelia Petrillo, who's everywhere around the Scranton area and has performed in New York City. Petrillo produces shows all over Scranton, won Matty B's Roast Battle II and opened for Gilbert Gottfried. A founder of StreetKar Comedy, Petrillo combines heavy doses of self-loathing and her musical talent to keep the crowd laughing.

Taury Seward, a co-founder of P.S.Y.C.H. 607, won the Who's Got Next? Rochester tournament and is a regular at Matty B's and Spotlight. He works steadily around New York and Pennsylvania and enjoys Bob Dylan, spam and amusement parks. He's a crowd favorite and always helpful at the grocery store. Seward runs the successful Laughs with Friends series and lives in constant fear of his grandfather.

Paul Kozlowski is one of the most unique voices on the local comedy scene. A Cortland native, Kozlowski came up through the Boston comedy scene and worked in New York City and Los Angeles, making appearances in the Shakes the Clown and Punchline movies and on television in "The Chris Rock Show," "Mr. Show with Bob and David" and "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist," along with writing for "The Wayne Brady Show," "Johnny Bravo." "The Chris Rock Show" and "The Jon Stewart Show." There's no telling what'll come out of Kozlowski's mouth. But you won't be able to look away.
