The laughter is coming to Syracuse with Homebrewed Comedy at Buried Acorn Brewing. A monthly showcase featuring some of the funniest people around the area is happening on Friday, Oct. 11 when Will Phillips, Bill Lake, James Fedkiw, Seth Ruddick and Mike Peters take the stage.
Tickets are $10 and available online, at the door and in the tap room. The show begins at 7 p.m.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over the Binghamton area.
Seth Ruddick has performed in Binghamton, Owego, Cortland, Syracuse and Galeton, Pa., among other places. Worldly for his young age, Ruddick unleashes his cantankerous take on his everyday happenings much to the audience’s delight. Ruddick, a self-deprecating comedian always looking for a free drink, opened for the Reverend Bob Levy.
James Fedkiw hosts Syracuse's longest-running open mic at George O'Dea's Pub and has performed at the Funny Bone and all around New York. He's a regular in the Syracuse and Rochester areas, placed second in the Utica Brews contest and qualified for the Utica Cup finals.
Bill Lake is a co-founder of the Binghamton Comedy Binge and The BoHo, a pop-up comedy club. A former contributing writer for David Letterman and Craig Ferguson, Lake is a host at the Syracuse Funny Bone, performs yearly at the Binghamton Comedy Crawl and was selected for the 2018 Asheville Comedy Festival and the Cape Fear and North Carolina Comedy Festivals in 2019. One of Binghamton’s strongest comedians, Lake uses his smart writing to entertain audiences all over the upstate area.
A talented comedian, writer and author, Will Phillips is a Utica favorite. He’s the head of content development for Stage Time Trivia, which serves several restaurants around the Central New York area, and co-created the popular KoldCast web series, Murder Squad, D.B.A. Before his stand-up career began, Phillips spent two years working with Family Guy and wrote Hollywood Failure, which was published in 2014.
