ABOUT ABOUT

The laughter is coming to Syracuse with Homebrewed Comedy at Buried Acorn Brewing. A monthly showcase featuring some of the funniest people around the area is happening on Friday, July 26 when Paul Kozlowski, MrJaxn, Deidre Mollura, Abdul Hadi and Mike Peters take the stage.

Tickets are $10 and available online and at the door. The show begins at 7 p.m.

About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over the Binghamton area.

The funniest Ethiopian you've ever met, Abdul Hadi is a favorite in Syracuse. He won the Comedy and Chill competition in Syracuse and brings a pleasant mix of self-deprecating humor and a love of the finer things in life -- like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Deidre Mollura is one of Ithaca's strongest comedians. A co-founder of the Itha-ha comedy group, Mollura is a collector of oddities and a lover of the weird things in life. Mollura performs all across New York, was the runner-up in the 2018 Matty B’s Roast Battle championship and the Finger Lakes Funniest competition. She works for food, drinks and one time, a tomato plant. (Don’t give her tomatoes.)

A Syracuse native who specializes in observational comedy, MrJaxn has spent time spent at the Funny Bone in Syracuse and New York City, He won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and was a finalist in the 2017 Utica Comedy Cup. MrJaxn works all over the state, opened for Tammy Pescatelli in Auburn and was selected to appear on Amazon’s Comics Watching Comics at the Broadway Comedy Club.

Paul Kozlowski is one of the most unique voices on the local comedy scene. A Cortland native, Kozlowski came up through the Boston comedy scene and worked in New York City and Los Angeles, making appearances in the Shakes the Clown and Punchline movies and on television in "The Chris Rock Show," "Mr. Show with Bob and David" and "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist," along with writing for "The Wayne Brady Show," "Johnny Bravo and "The Jon Stewart Show." He also produces the must-listen podcast, Look Who Showed Up. There's no telling what'll come out of Kozlowski's mouth. But you won't be able to look away.
