ABOUT ABOUT

P.S.Y.C.H. 607 is bringing a great group of area comedians to Spotlight to raise some money and collect coats for those in need in conjunction with the House of Worship in Binghamton.

Come to Spotlight at 7 p.m. on Feb. 22 to get some good food from Muffer's Kitchen, have a few drinks and laugh it up with Mike Carroll, Seth Ruddick, Charlie Wildey, Bill Lake, MrJaxn and Taury Seward.

This is the first of two jokes-for-coats comedy shows run by P.S.Y.C.H. 607, a Binghamton comedy group. On Feb. 24, they'll be occupying Comedy Night at the Grapevine with Mike Ciurzynski for another 7 p.m. show.

Muffer's Kitchen and Spotlight will be offering dinner specials and the drinks will flow. Chicken dinners, which include greens, rice and cornbread, are $10.  Admission is $5 at the door and donations -- in the form of money and slightly-worn or new coats -- are welcome.

About the comedians:
Mike Carroll has worked at the Syracuse Funny Bone and is a regular host with the Binghamton Comedy Binge. Carroll hosted a leg of the Comedy Crawl in April and was runner-up in Binghamton's Make Me Laugh contest in 2015. He's headlined the Night of Debauchery, opened at Virgil's BBQ at Tioga Downs in Nichols and hosted P.S.Y.C.H. 607’s Matty B’s Roast Battle IV.

Seth Ruddick has performed in Binghamton, Owego, Cortland, Syracuse and Galeton, Pa., among other places. He hosted the Almost Famous Comedy Show in Binghamton and makes regular appearances at The Dock in Ithaca and BRU 64 in Cortland. Ruddick is self-deprecating and always looking for a free drink.

Charlie Wildey is an Ithaca comedian from Rochester. While living in New York City, Wildey performed at Bunga’s Den and Over the Eight -- both of which are closed. He talked to Tom Segura about soccer (football), met Pete Holmes and spoke to Kurt Braunohler at his merch table after a show. Wildey also sneaked backstage at a Steve Martin concert.

Bill Lake is a co-founder of the Binghamton Comedy Binge and is a regular at Spotlight, Matty B’s and the Comedy Night at Virgil's in Tioga Downs Casino. A former contributing writer for David Letterman and Craig Ferguson, Lake is a regular host at the Syracuse Funny Bone and performs yearly at the Binghamton Comedy Crawl. One of Binghamton’s strongest comedians, Lake uses his smart writing to entertain audiences all over the upstate area.

A Syracuse native who specializes in observational comedy, MrJaxn has spent time spent at the Funny Bone in Syracuse and New York City, He won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and was a finalist in the 2017 Utica Comedy Cup. MrJaxn works all over the state and opened for Tammy Pescatelli in Auburn.

Bryan Walsh, from Scranton, will keep the audience's attention because everyone is a potential target. Armed with a quick wit, a sharp tongue and no remorse, Walsh wins over a crowd by taking shots at its collective self-esteem. He's performed at Wisecrackers in Scranton, the Helium and Trocodero comedy clubs in Philadelphia and the New York Comedy Club, Walsh is a two-time winner of Matty B’s Roast Battle.

Taury Seward, a co-founder of P.S.Y.C.H. 607, won the Who's Got Next? Rochester tournament and is a regular at Matty B's and Spotlight. He works steadily around New York and Pennsylvania and enjoys Bob Dylan, spam and amusement parks. He's a crowd favorite and always helpful at the grocery store. Seward runs the successful Laughs with Friends series and lives in constant fear of his grandfather.
